project starter plan
Chris Lifesaving Association is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Michelle Ain Malak after her son Chris was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2023. What began as a grassroots fundraising effort to cover a life-saving gene therapy grew into a national organization focused on funding medical research, supporting patients and families through complex healthcare journeys, and advocating for equitable access to care. The organization runs five core programs, funding research, medical support, advocacy, family empowerment, and community partnerships, and shares its impact through the real stories of the families it has helped.

project overview
The Project Overview gives a clear snapshot of the Chris Lifesaving Association build from start to finish. The brief called for a site that could carry a deeply personal founding story with the credibility and structure of an established nonprofit, so donors and families arriving for the first time could quickly understand the mission and trust the organization behind it. We built the site on WordPress with Elementor, structuring the homepage as a single narrative flow: the founder’s story, the five program pillars, real testimonials from families and patients, and a closing mission and vision section, so the case for support builds naturally as visitors scroll.
Donation flow was kept simple and low-friction, with PayPal-based giving integrated directly into the hero, the impact section, and the closing call to action, so the ask is never more than a scroll away. A WPForms-based contact and involvement form was set up to route volunteers, sponsors, and fundraisers into a single structured intake, making it easier for the organization to triage interest as it grows. The testimonial section was designed to let the stories of the families themselves carry the emotional weight of the page, paired with a founder’s letter that ties the personal origin story back to the organization’s broader mission.
The result is a site built to hold a very personal story with care, while giving the organization the credibility and structure it needs to grow its reach and funding.
